Investigation Into the Death of an Amtrak Passenger
Authorities are investigating the death of an Amtrak passenger who somehow got off a moving locomotive in central Kansas. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says the incident happened between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Tuesday. Someone on a passing freight train spotted the man around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday along the tracks in the Marion County town of Florence. The man had been a passenger on Amtrak's eastbound Southwest Chief. It wasn't clear how he left the train. His name wasn't immediately released. Magliari says "no malfunction" was found on the train.
