Judge Blocks Law on Signs for Adult Stores

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - A federal judge has temporarily blocked the state of Kansas from enforcing a law restricting roadside signs for adult stores. U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson issued the preliminary injunction sought by Lion's Den Adult Superstore in Abilene. The store's attorney, Richard Bryant, said Monday he was pleased with the ruling. The attorney general's office called the decision unfortunate and said it would evaluate its options. Lion's Den was seeking to block enforcement of a law requiring it to remove three large billboards after July 1. The billboards are located along Interstate 70 in Dickinson, Geary and Russell counties. The store is located near the interstate in Dickinson County. The judge issued her ruling Friday.
