TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - At the urging of the governor, the Kansas Board of Regents has voted to require that all six state universities conduct regular audits of their athletic departments. The motion carried without debate Thursday morning and was unanimously adopted by the nine-member board. Before the vote, regents were read a letter from Gov. Mark Parkinson telling the board he thought the regular audits would be a good idea. The action was prompted by an audit of Kansas State which cited numerous questionable financial dealings.
