WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Kansans for Life's political action committee has endorsed Rep. Todd Tiahrt in the U.S. Senate race. The announcement was made Thursday in dual press conferences in Wichita and Overland Park. The endorsement comes less than a month after abortion provider George Tiller was killed. Board member Christine Ostroski told reporters that the American people are "overwhelmingly pro-life and the tragedy of the violence" in Wichita should serve to underscore that even more. She said, "We must be pro-life so we can live in a society where people don't kill one another to solve what they think is a crisis." Tiahrt and Rep. Jerry Moran, both Republicans, are the only announced candidates for the Senate seat now held by Republican Sam Brownback.
