KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A 37-year-old man has been charged with
murder in the shooting deaths of four people, including a
3-year-old girl and the child's mother.
Adrian Burks, of Kansas City, Kan., was charged Thursday with
four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 66-year-old
James Warren; 21-year-old Amanda Remmers; 41-year-old Peggy
Castleberry; and her 3-year-old daughter, Juanita Castleberry-Bess.
They all died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Burks also is charged with aggravated battery and eluding
police.
The victims' bodies were found Monday at a Kansas City, Kan.,
home owned by Warren.
Burks was arrested Tuesday evening and was being held at the
Wyandotte County jail on $2 million bond in another case that
police say occurred before the homicides.
