EMPORIA, Kan. (AP) - Five teachers, including one from Overland Park, will be joining the ranks of the National Teachers Hall of Fame. The class of 2009 inductees are set to be honored Friday during a ceremony at Emporia State University. They will join 90 others already in the hall. Set to be honored are: Kenneth Bingman of Overland Park; Leslie Nicholas of Kingston, Pa.; Steve Rapp of Abington, Va.; Patrice McCrary of Bowling Green, Ky.; and Jerry Parks of Georgetown, Ky. The inductees arrived Wednesday and will spend Thursday meeting with high school students attending the Future Teachers Academy at Emporia State. The teachers also will participate in a discussion about educational issues.
