Police ended a seven-and-a-half-hour standoff in downtown Hutchinson last evening. A South Hutchinson man walked into a law firm with two handguns around Noon Thursday. The man's wife worked at the law firm, and had recently received a protective order for herself and their child from her husband. Five people were inside the law office, but escaped unharmed. After 7-and-a-half hours, Hutchinson police moved in with tear gas. No one was injured. The suspect is in custody facing multiple charges.
