Man Dies in Kellogg Crash

At about 3:10 a.m. Sunday, witnesses saw a white Mercury Grand Marquis west-bound on Kellogg west of Hillside speeding in the right-hand lane. The vehicle swerved left to avoid traffic, then swerved back to the right, causing it to slide sideways down Kellogg. The car then hit the guard rail, and spun several times. The driver, 36-year-old Cameron Connor of Wichita, was ejected from the car.

Connor was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:16 a.m.; an autopsy was performed on his body, and toxicology results are pending.

This is Wichita's 14th traffic fatality in 2008. That total does not include the deaths of Claudia & Gisele, the mother and daughter who were killed last week as they were crossing the street in south Wichita; their deaths are classified as homicides.
