Hays School Locked Down Due to Neighborhood Disturbance
HAYS, Kan. - A Kansas elementary school was briefly locked down while police responded to the report of a suicidal woman.
Shortly before 9:00 a.m. Monday, Hays police officers responded to the report of a suicidal woman armed with a gun. Because the woman's residence was located near Lincoln Elementary School, the school was notified and locked down.
Several streets were also blocked off until officers were able to locate the woman and provide her with assistance. Officers also located a firearm inside the home.
