WICHITA, Kan. - A van stolen after the suspected thief damages a north Wichita apartment complex is returned to it's owner.
The van belonged North Park Apartment maintenance supervisor David Rodke. He says that the suspected thief was a temporary worker for the apartment complex.
That suspect damaged multiple walls inside a garage and stole Rodke's maintenance van on Thursday.
Police contacted Rodke early Saturday morning, informing him that his van was located and the suspect was captured.
The suspect crashed the van into a tree while fleeing police, causing an estimated $2000 in damage.
There were many tools inside the van prior to it being stolen, most of them were missing when the vehicle was given back to Rodke. He says the missing tools are worth $4000-to-$5000.
Police have not released a name of the suspect.
