WICHITA - A major copper theft in southeast Wichita. On Tuesday afternoon, police were called to a building owned by Kroger foods, a former grocery store west of Oliver & Harry.
A property representative had gone inside to check the building, discovering that copper piping had been stripped from the building. The thieves had cut holes in the walls, pulling out copper wiring and tubing.
The loss and damage is estimated in excess of $100,000.
The theft could have taken place any time from early July through early August.
