WICHITA - The Wichita Business Journal reports Dillons is going to close two of its "under-performing stores" later this month.
Stores at 13th & Woodlawn, and at Harry & Broadway will close on July 19, according to a company spokeswoman. Hutchinson-based Dillons notified employees at the two stores Monday.
The company says the stores are near other Dillons stores that have undergone expansion or renovation.
The Kroger-owned company is working with the 100 affected employees to find them job opportunities at other Dillons stores, or at Kwik Shop locations; Kwik Shop is a Dillons convenience store subsidiary.
Dillons says it does not anticipate any layoffs associated with the store closings.
Dillons operates 26 stores and four Marketplace sites in the Wichita area.
