Holiday Weekend "Fairly Mild" For Fireworks Problems
Steve McIntosh Reporting
WICHITA - Wichita Fire Marshall Brad Crisp tells KNSS News three structure fires over the Independence Day weekend appear to have been caused by fireworks, including an old grocery store at 25th and Arkansas and an apartment building in the 2200 South Rock Road. Crisp says a vacant house also was destroyed by fire that was apparently fireworks related. He says fireworks violators were warned and educated about the city's ordinance, but it appears that no citations were issued. Crisp says the weekend was "fairly mild" when it comes to fireworks-related problems.
