KSN News Poll: Brownback Faces Re-Election Challenge



WICHITA, Kan.  -  The second KSN News Poll released Wednesday, reveals Governor Sam Brownback is currently trailing the Democrat challengers Paul Davis and Jill Docking with less than 5 months until the general election. As of Wednesday, the Davis/Docking ticket leads the incumbent 47%- 41% with 25% of Republicans voters defecting to the Democratic nominees.

The race for Secretary of State is very close. Incumbent Chris Kobach only leads Democrat Jean Schodorf 47% to 41%. Kobach maintains 70% of Republicans surveyed and Schodorf holds 80% of Democrats, but captures more Independents 4:3%.

In the contest for U.S. Senator, Pat Roberts leads primary challenger Milton Wolf by 2 to 1. In the general election, results Wednesday show that Roberts will likely defeat the Democrat nominee 43%-33%. Third party candidates claim 12% of the poll and another 12% are undecided.

The KSN News Poll was conducted exclusively for KSN by Survey USA. The phone survey occurred June 19 – June 23, 2014 and interviewed 2,200 registered voters in Kansas who passed a screening to establish their voter status and are likely to vote in the upcoming primary. The survey has a margin of error of ±4.4%.
