(NEW YORK) -- iHeartRadio, the digital music and live radio streaming service operated by Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, announced on Tuesday that it has reached 50 million users in just three years -- faster than any other streaming music platform, Twitter or Facebook hit that milestone.
The service, available on over 35 devices, including mobile phones, tablets, in vehicles, on smart televisions, gaming devices and on the web, has also held a number of "signature events," including a music festival in Las Vegas, an "Ultimate Pool Party," and their own music awards show, which the company says has "[fostered] brand awareness."
"Less than three years ago, Clear Channel launched the new iHeartRadio with the goal of reinventing the digital radio experience and reimagining the boundaries of broadcast radio," Bob Pittman, chairman and CEO of Clear Channel said.
The streaming platform is free for listeners, has no maximum amount of time individuals can listen and no monthly subscription fees.
