WICHITA, Kan. - A Wichita man has been sentenced to 5 years in federal prison on child pornography charges.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Amel Kevin Loop, 54, pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of distributing child pornography. In his plea agreement, Loop admitted that in November of 2012, an FBI agent used the Internet to download images of child pornography from Loop's computer. The photos were transferred using an encrypted peer-to-peer network.
They included sexually explicit photos of a child no more than two years old. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom commended the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart for their work on the case.
