WICHITA - #1-Florida and #2-Wichita State remain the top two ranked teams in the nation in this week's Associated Press and Coaches polls in men's college basketball.
Florida (29-2), champions of the Southeastern Conference, is on a 23-game winning streak. Wichita State (34-0) has won the Missouri Valley Conference, and the MVC postseason tournament. WSU becomes the first team to enter the NCAA tournament undefeated since UNLV in 1991.
Florida and WSU are the only two teams receiving first-place votes; Wichita State is receiving 23% of the first-place votes in the A.P poll, and 22% in the Coaches poll.
Wichita State did gain some ground in the voting this week in the polls, creeping six points closer to Florida in the Coaches poll, and 15 points closer in the Coaches poll. WSU also widened the gap this week between itself and the #3 team, which last week was Arizona, and this week is Villanova.
The WSU Basketball Coach's Show with head coach Gregg Marshall is at 6:00 this evening on NewsRadio 1330 KNSS, broadcasting live from Deano's Grill & Tapworks at 21st & Webb.
Kansas (23-8), champions of the Big 12 Conference, dropped two spots in both polls this week, into the #10 slot.
