WICHITA - Police are investigating a gang-related shooting in south Wichita near Pawnee & Meridian.
After 1:00 a.m. Sunday, 9-1-1 dispatchers received several calls about a shooting in the 2400 block of S. St. Clair. There were about 45 people at a birthday party. Police believe some members of a rival gang fired shots at the residence, and there may have been some return gunfire.
The only person wounded was a 17-year-old boy on the front porch; a bullet struck him in the upper leg, and he was hospitalized in very critical condition. His condition has since improved; he's been stabilized.
