2 Hutchinson Hazing Defendants Sentenced

HUTCHINSON, Kan.  -  Two of three teens arrested in connection to hazing among the Hutchinson High school football team have pleaded guilty and been sentenced.

The Hutchinson Post reports that Jaiden Casanova, 18, and co-defendant Kendric Hudson pleaded guilty Tuesday in Reno County District Court. Casanova pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and hazing, while Hudson pleaded guilty to 3 counts of misdemeanor battery and hazing.

The pair were accused of using hot coat hangers to brand at least 3 students who had just been promoted to the varsity football team back in October of 2013. A third defendant, is still awaiting trial in juvenile court.

Casanova and Hudson will both have to serve 30 days in the Reno County Jail, followed by 12 months of probation.
