WICHITA - Wichita Police say street racing may be to blame for a crash in downtown Wichita Sunday afternoon that killed one person and sent another to the hospital. The accident happened just after 3 p.m. at Douglas and Market, shutting down traffic between Broadway and Main on Douglas for several hours. Police say two vehicles were racing on Douglas when one of them lost control. Police say after the driver, a man in his 20's, lost control, he hit a brick and metal light post at the corner of Douglas and Market. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a woman in her 20's, was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Police spoke with the driver of the 2nd vehicle, but at this time, that driver has not been arrested.
