Possible Police Impersonator in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. - Police are investigating the report of a possible police impersonator.

A 30 year old woman reported Monday that she was stopped by a man in a car who identified himself as a Wichita Police officer. When the man left after getting information from her driver's license the woman became suspicious and called 9-1-1.

Police Lt. Doug Nolte says this is exactly what someone should do if they are not sure the person involved in a traffic stop is an actual law enforcement officer.
The woman described the suspect as a white male, approximately 25 year old, 6' 3" and weighing about 250 pounds. She was not able to give police a description of the car used by the suspect.
