KAKE News reports that the Kansas Department of Revenue and Alcoholic Beverage Control seized the assets of four locations of Vision Doctors LLC on Tuesday. The company owed nearly $230,000 in state withholding, sales, consumer compensating use and individual income taxes.Officers seized all known bank accounts, on-site cash, business inventory and personal property assets belonging to owner Michael D. Gordon. The offices seized were located in Wichita, Derby, Goddard and Wellington. Those assets will be sold later at a public auction to pay the taxes owed.
The Kansas Department of Revenue says that warrant execution happens when all other collection attempts, including multiple letters, phone calls, letters of impending legal action, tax liens filed in court to secure debt, previous bank levies and on-site till taps fail to bring a taxpayer into compliance.
