(DENVER) -- Their cantaloupes killed 33 people and hospitalized 147 others -- and now Eric and Ryan Jensen, brothers who ran a Colorado farm and claimed they were not guilty when they were arrested last month, have changed their pleas to guilty.
The two are accused of taking shortcuts at Jensen Farms that allowed cantaloupes sold across the country to be contaminated with the poisonous bacteria listeria. Prosecutors have said farm workers failed to properly clean the cantaloupes.
A plea hearing will be held next week. The brothers could be looking at up to six years in federal prison each.
