Storms Bring Strong Winds, More Rain to South-Central Kansas
WICHITA, Kan. - Winds ranging from 70 to 80 mph passed through South-Central Kansas, Monday night. In Pratt County there were reports of damage and power outages.
Cunningham was without power for a time as well as Pretty Prairie in Reno County. A building at the airport in Pratt County lost its roof and there are reports of trees knocked down throughout the county.
Strong winds were also reported in Newton, and Nickerson reported that K-96 was covered with water for a time, and visibility was zero during the heaviest rains.
Damage is being assessed throughout the area and additional rainfall that could lead to flooding is possible.
