WICHITA, Ks. - A Flood Watch is in effect for most of south-central and southeast Kansas through Tuesday morning. This does include Wichita, Hutchinson, Salina, and Ark City.
Some locations could receive another 2 to 4 inches of rain by Tuesday morning, which could cause localized flooding.
We will continue to stay in a moist northwest flow, which will keep good chances for heavy rain in the forecast through Tuesday. Overnight, Wichita received more than 1.5" of rain.
That overnight rainfall was good enough to put July 2013 in unusual territory. It is now the 6th wettest July ever recorded in Wichita. We will likely keep climbing the charts with additional rainfall.
This Afternoon: Off and on rain showers.
Sunday Night: Heavy rain develops, especially overnight, which could cause localized flooding.
Monday: Heavy rain chance continue, which could cause localized flooding.
