WICHITA - A threat of wind in excess of 60 miles an hour triggered a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for much of south central Kansas, including Sedgwick County, early this morning. It was part of a long storm front stretching from near Salina to near Oklahoma City and moving from west to east at about 40 miles an hour. The warning lasted from shortly after midnight until 1:50 this morning for Sedgwick County. Here in Wichita we saw lightning, heavy, rain, and at least one gust over 60 miles an hour. No injuries were reported. A tree fell at 31st and Charles (near Amidon) and some power lines are down.
