MARYSVILLE, Kan. - Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes caused some damage as they swept through northeast Kansas Monday night. A Marshall County emergency manager reported a tornado touched down Monday night near Marysville, which is north and west of Topeka. Station WIBW in Topeka reports a tornado warning was issued around 9:30 p.m. as a storm moved through Marshall County. The tornado itself was reported about a mile northwest of Marysville. Initial reports indicated that a John Deere dealership sustained damage in the storm, along with 4 other homes and businesses. No injuries have been reported. Emergency management officials said late Monday they were working to assess the extent and severity of damage sustained in Marshall County.
