WICHITA - April showers bring May ... snow? Wichita may break its record for latest spring snowfall, which was set just two weeks ago on April 23rd.
On that date, Wichita received its latest spring snowfall when 0.2 inches of snow was measured at Mid-Continent Airport.
Light snow is currently forecast to spread southeast across south-central Kansas early Thursday morning. It's possible that a few tenths of an inch may occur in parts of south-central Kansas, primarily along and northwest of a line from Wellington to Cottonwood Falls.
Accumulations of about two inches of snow are possible across parts of central Kansas, including as close as Barton County.
If it does snow, this would mark the first time that snow would have occurred in May in south-central or central Kansas.
