WICHITA, Kan. - Though he was found not guilty of two counts of attempted sex acts, a jury this week was unable to reach a decision on whether or not Todd Puetz was guilty of electronic solicitation of a child.
The lack of a verdict does not mean the case against Puetz is over. District Attorney Mark Bennett's office released a statement today saying Puetz will be tried again on that single count.
"Like any case that ends in a mistrial, count one in State v. Puetz has been placed back on the trial calendar by the court. The next scheduled jury trial date is June 24, 2013. No 'refilling' of the case is necessary."
Bennett's office released the statement to clear up any confusion over what Monday's verdict meant.
