WICHITA - Two Sedgwick County sheriff's deputies have been awarded a medal for rescuing a man from a burning truck.
Deputies Thomas Delgado and Joseph Page have been awarded the Carnegie Medal for their heroic efforts in the rescue of a man trapped in a burning truck.
They pulled the 65-year-old motorist from the truck after an accident on August 31, 2011. The accident happened near 71st Street South & Broadway.
More than 9,500 heroes have been awarded the Carnegie Medal since the Pittsburgh-based fund’s inception in 1904.
