WICHITA - Social media yielded immediate results in helping authorities find a bank-robbery suspect.
A male supsect robbed the Commerce Bank on Friday morning in downtown Wichita at Central & Main, across the street from City Hall. Police posted photos of the suspect on their Facebook page, and they instantly got a tip on the suspect's identity. Officers went to a location on S. Hydraulic, meeting with other people who positively identified the suspect.
Officers conversed briefly with the suspect on the phone; within a half hour, the suspect showed up at the Sedgwick County jail and turned himself in.
The 52-year-old man remains in custody, as the F-B-I investigation continues.
