It happened near Blackwell around 3 p.m. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells KAKE News that 52 year-old Darrell Wilson was travelling west on a dirt road when he failed to negotiate a curve, striking a bridge. The truck rolled several times before crashing into a tree.
Troopers say Wilson was ejected from the truck. He was transported by EMS to the hospital in Blackwell, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His passenger, 34 year-old Oliver Wilson of Wichita was taken to the hospital in Blackwell, where he was treated and released. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says speed played a role in the accident.
