WINFIELD, Kan. - The suspect wanted in connection to a shooting early Monday morning has been arrested after a lengthy manhunt in Cowley County.
A truck had been reported stolen from the area where the suspect vehicle had been found near Atlanta. Deputies later spotted the truck and tried to stop the vehicle, but the suspect tried to run from the deputies.The man bailed out in a rural area about five miles east of Winfield around 1:30 p.m., and law enforcement set up a perimeter. An aerial search was also conducted. Just before 3:00 p.m., authorities found the suspect and took him into custody without incident.
El Dorado Police say all persons wanted in connection to the shooting are now in custody. The victim, 23, remains in critical condition.
