Burglary Suspect Beaten by Victim's "Ugly Stick"

     WICHITA - A burglary victim fights back; after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a 42-year-old man was asleep, but woke up when he heard someone inside his house in the 3300 block of N. Jeanette. He got out of bed, confronting the burglar.
     During the scuffle, the suspect picked up a metal bar he had found in the house, hitting the victim's arm. The victim then retrieved what he called his "ugly stick" from beside his bed, and began beating the suspect.
     Officers were able to apprehend the 31-year-old suspect inside the house; he was wearing a jacket belonging to the victim. The suspect was arrested for aggravated burglary & battery.
