Feds Blocking Anheuser-Busch Takeover of Groupo Modelo

Alexander Zemlianichenko JR/Bloomberg via Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- The U.S. Justice Department is trying to keep a lid on Anheuser-Busch.

The government is challenging the company's proposal to purchase Groupo Modelo, saying the takeover would lead to higher beer prices because of decreased competition.

Anheuser is already the country's biggest beer-seller with brands like Budweiser. Groupo is number three with labels that include Corona.
