Teen Trio Arrested in Wichita Murder Case
WICHITA - Police have made four arrests after a 26-year-old man was killed Tuesday evening in north Wichita.
Police say a woman went to a home to visit on 23rd Street North, near I-135; the front door was open, and she found there had been some sort of a confrontation in the front living room. She immediately went to check the bedrooms to find the occupants of the house: a man, and two children -- a one-year-old boy, and a six-month-old girl.
She found the children were safe in one bedroom. She went into another back bedroom, and found the shooting victim laying on a bed gasping for air; he had been shot several times in the abdomen. The victim was hospitalized, but later died.
The man had been shot in the living room.
Police have arrested three 16-year-old boys; they have been booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility on 1st-degree murder charges. Another suspect was arrested on a warrant not related to the case. This is Wichita's fourth homicide case of the year.
