Slick Roads Catch Drivers Unaware

WICHITA, Kan.  -  A period of freezing drizzle Thursday night created slick road conditions throughout the Wichita Metro area.  The freezing drizzle began falling around 6:00 p.m. contributing to several accidents.
An accident was reported on K-96, west of Maize around 7:30 p.m. that pinned two people for a short time.  Four people were injured and three were hospitalized with potentially serious injuries.
Around 9:00 p.m. the ramp from southbound I-235 onto northbound I-135 was closed following an accident on that ramp.  No serious injuries were reported.  According the Highway Patrol, slick roads also contributed to numerous slide-offs through most of the evening.
K-Dot crews were out treating the affected roadways.
