WICHITA, Kan. - Fire damaged a business in West Wichita. It broke out around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hanna Heating and Air, in the 200 block of N. West St. Initial crews arriving reported seeing heavy smoke and flames.
Crews were forced to take a defensive mode in battling the blaze, meaning all firefighters were pulled out of the structure to fight it from the outside. They also called for additional help.
Employees of the business said that the fire was in the sheet metal shop where tools and machines are stored. No one has been injured. Traffic was blocked on West Street between Douglas and 2nd as crews worked to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
