Man Fleeing Police Enters Unlocked Home

WICHITA, Kan.  -  A man trying to get away from officers ran into an unlocked home with two people inside.  It happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.   Wichita police officers saw what they believed to be a drug deal taking place at Bluffview and Wilma.  When they saw police, two people sped away in a car.
A man, 25, bailed from the car when they reached the 600 block of South Spruce, and ran. He cut himself jumping a fence, then entered a nearby house through an unlocked door.
Two people who were inside the home, a 55-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were sleeping. The 22-year-old heard someone in the house and saw police activity outside the window. The two called for officers, saying someone was inside.
Officers came into the home and found the suspect hiding in the basement.  They arrested the man, and found meth scales and cash on him. A girl, 17, who was also in the car was arrested for a curfew violation.
