WICHITA -- Wichita Police and area law enforcement were busy early New Year's Day. Officers checked dozens of reports of "shots fired" near the midnight hour. All turned out to be celebrants using fireworks or firing guns into the air. At 1:27 a "shots fired" call drew Wichita Police officers to the Old Town parking garage. 1 minor injury was reported in that incident. 3 suspects were taken into custody. There were also several reports of impaired drivers and traffic accidents in the overnight hours as well.
