WICHITA, Kan.  -  AAA and Old Town Association are providing a free ride home from a drinking establishment or party through a program called "Care Cab."
     The program is only available by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP or 1-800-222-4357 and asking for a "Care Cab."  "It's extremely important that we eliminate the need for impaired drivers to be on the road. If they have a source out there that can help them get home, they can go out and they can still enjoy the night," said Bryan Page, AAA fleet supervisor.
     The free cab rides are available from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and for those within the city limits of Wichita.  Best Cabs will be providing the free cab rides but you must call the AAA hotline.
      Wichita Police will not be conducting DUI checkpoints but they will be out on the streets checking for impaired drivers.  "We're asking people to be very, very careful in getting out and driving in this kind of weather. Then, of course, weather and alcohol don't mix," said Lt. Doug Nolte.
