Investigators Identify Suspected Burglar Shot by Homeowner
MULVANE, Kan. - Sumner County Sheriff investigators have identified the suspected burglar who was shot by a homeowner in rural Mulvane early Wednesday morning.
The sheriff's office said Jason Confer, 31, was shot after trying to attack the owner of the home he was allegedly burglarizing.
Confer and is currently listed as a Sedgwick County Community Corrections inmate. He was convicted in 2010 of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and failure to register under the Offender Registration Act.
He is in custody and receiving treatment at a Wichita hospital, but his current condition is unknown.
