WICHITA, Kan. - A 29 year old man is facing a charge of first degree murder in the death of a man stabbed this weekend.
The victim, 27-year old Tan Nguyen, was taken to Via Christi St. Joseph hospital by friends with a wound to his abdomen. He later died after being transfered to Via Christi St. Francis for surgery.
Police say the stabbing occurred at a party in the 20-hundred block of S. White Oak just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
Lt. Scott Heimerman said the suspect had a long standing feud with the victim's brother and showed up with friends to the party. Heimerman said witnesses told police the victim, Tan, started a fight with some from the group and during the disturbance his brother pulled a gun. At some point Tan was stabbed.
The investigation led police to a suspect who was arrested later at his residence and booked into jail on charges of 1st degree murder.
The victim's brother was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
