WASHINGTON, DC -- For the first time in 150 years the first district in Kansas will not have a representative on the Agriculture Committee in Washington. First District Rep. Tim Huelskamp says the Republican leadership created a targeted vote list that goes against those who don't get in line.
Speaking Thursday on the Sean Hannity Show, heard on KNSS, Huleskamp says they have refused to release that scorecard to the house membership. "I also spoke up a week ago, when I heard rumors that the leadership would like to put the debt ceiling in with this fiscal cliff discussion," Hulescamp said. "And they still have it on the list of things they'd like to do before the end of the year." "And to me that's the only lever(age) Republicans have over this President, is the debt ceiling."Huleskamp says there are three concretive freshmen who are being punished for working to stop overspending and roll back the power in Washington. "We've got a massive tax increase facing us in the new year, and I'm afraid the Republican leadership in Washington is about ready to push through a tax increase, and I'm going to stand in the way of that,” said Hulescamp. "And I think they're trying to warn Republicans in general that if you're going to stand up for Republican principles, concretive principles, you will be punished."
Huleskamp says they need to find real solutions to the countries fiscal problems, and the Republican leadership is acting like it won't work to cut a single dime.
