WICHITA, Kan. - Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at a southeast Wichita high-rise apartment complex Tuesday evening. Crews were called to Willow Creek Manor in the 1300 block of South Bleckley Drive just before 9:30 p.m.
Smoke and flames were seen coming from the fourth floor of the complex. Firefighters called in additional assistance as rescue crews searched the building.One person was taken to St. Francis with serious burns. Another was also hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The fire was brought under control around 9:45 pm.
The cause of the is under investigation. A damage estimate has not been determined.
