WICHITA, Kan. - Two people are dead, following an incident inside a Wichita Dollar General Store. It happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. Friday in the 4600 block of East 13th, near 13th and Oliver.
Officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired, but investigators have not confirmed the fatalities were due to a shooting. Police Capt. Nelson Mosley says their investigation is in the preliminary stage to find out exactly what happened. "Just like any investigation we try to go back as far as we can," said Mosley. "We identify the victims, and then see if there are any issues there, or whether there was something going on." Capt. Nelson also said investigators would look into the possibility of robbery as a motive in the case.The names of the victims have not been released. Mosley said there were shoppers in the store at the time, but no one else was injured.
