Crews arrived in 900 block of North Glendale Street around 3:30 a.m. and saw no fire or smoke.
Acting Battalion Chief Frank Buck said once they gained entry into the home, they found a large fire in the living room. The blaze was quickly brought under control.
No one was inside that duplex at the time of the fire. The people living in the duplex next door got out safely and were eventually allowed back inside.
The fire was contained to the living room, but there was smoke damage throughout the dwelling.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a damage estimate has yet to be determined.
