WICHITA, Kan. - A research attorney for the Kansas Court of Appeals was fired Monday after an investigation into offensive tweets she sent during a Supreme Court hearing.
According to a spokesperson from the Kansas Judicial Branch, Sarah Peterson Herr had been suspended with pay pending results of the investigation. The tweets were sent out during oral arguments at a disciplinary hearing against Phil Kline, former Kansas Attorney General.
The investigation concluded Monday, and Peterson Herr was terminated.
Chief Justice Lawton Nuss said he is referring the matter to the appropriate offices to review for possible ethical violations.
