Pamela Garrie Kibodeaux/KATC(NEW ORLEANS) -- Two people are missing and four others were airlifted for medical treatment following an apparent explosion Friday at an oil and natural gas platform off the coast of Louisiana, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The incident occurred at a Black Elk Energy Company platform 20 nautical miles southeast of Grand Isle, La., the Coast Guard said. It’s unclear whether the rig is still burning.
