Man Injured in South Wichita Motorcycle Accident Friday Died

WICHITA, Kan. - A motorcycle accident on Friday in South Wichita has claimed the life of the driver.
Police say 29-year old Michael L. Landrum was traveling east at a high rate of speed on Pawnee on a motorcycle as he approached Walnut, just east of Seneca, where an 81-year old woman was turning right onto Pawnee. An investigation continues but Police say it appears that excessive speed was a factor contributing to the accident.
Landrum was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries. He was transported to Via Christi - St. Francis in critical condition. Police say he died Monday during the day.
Landrum is the 4th motorcycle fatality of 2012. There were a total of 7 motorcycle fatalities in 2011. Overall this is the 18th traffic fatality in WIchita this year, compared to a total of 22 in 2011.

Not the only factor.
Is it possible that a failure to yield by the 82 year-old woman was also a factor?

But in Kansas...
...the bike could have been going 200 MPH, at night with no headlight on, and it's still the old womans fault.
